Growing our Team
At the beginning of 2008 there were over 7,100 commercial banks in the United States. Today about 4,750 remain. We’ve seen this change first hand as local banks are bought and relationships and decisions migrate away from our communities.
Unlike some of our peers, Sterling State Bank remains locally based and we’re growing! In the past year alone we’ve increased the size of our sales team in the Twin Cities by 50%. As a bank we have always invested in locally-based, experienced bankers who live and work in the communities we serve. We’re proud of our vibrant, growing staff of great bankers. In a recent FDIC exam Sterling was commended as having a unique situation in banking by having a long-tenured staff. We look forward to meeting you!
BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE
Founded in 1958, right here in Southeastern Minnesota, Sterling State Bank continues to grow and expand to better serve the communities we call home. As one of a very select group of banks headquartered right here in Rochester, we are happy to report that our latest expansion into a new corporate office extends our roots even deeper into the community. Our operations, IT and corporate staff will be housed in the modern pre-stressed concrete building. This building meets current needs and is designed with a view towards continued growth and expansion.
